WHAT IS KRAV MAGA

Krav Maga is a form of self-defense and physical training, first developed by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1940’s and later adopted by the Israeli Defense Forces, based on the use of reflexive responses to threatening situations.

Krav Maga is designed to be practical and intuitive for people of any age, shape or size. Throughout your training you will learn techniques to expand on your natural instincts to assist in developing your skills quickly and effectively. You will learn to address attacks under any scenario, how to defend yourself and loved ones, and gain increased awareness and instinctive reflexes that you carry throughout your every day life.

Here at Black Mountain Defense you will learn the necessary skills to defend yourself and/or others against real-world threats and attacks. Krav Maga is simple and effective; it doesn’t rely on rules like most martial arts; this is where Krav Maga sets itself apart from all other systems, there are no rules. The simple and aggressive strategies allow you to handle real-world situations and ultimately get you home safe.

ABOUT THE OWNER

Pjeter Berishaj is the owner and lead instructor at Black Mountain Defense. His extensive knowledge in Krav Maga, as well as firearms, brings a unique integrative training experience to our students. He is a 2nd Degree Black Belt Instructor in Krav Maga and has trained with many top experts in the industry. He was awarded his black belt by Pawel Cichowlas and John Whitman in 2018 at Krav Maga Alliance and his 2nd degree black belt by Tony Morrison in 2022. He is also a certified instructor for Integrative Defense Strategies, a 5D Core Element training system that teaches legal education, mental and behavioral preparation, hand-to-hand combative training, firearm implementation and simulated scenario exercises using inert laser pistols.
